Kering Shuffles Luxury Management, Alexis Babeau Exits
Kering announced a reorganisation of its top luxury management this week. Alexis Babeau, managing director of Kering's luxury unit since 2011, will exit the company "to take his career in a new direction." Moving forward, his role will be split into two. Marco Bizzarri, currently chief executive of Bottega Veneta, will oversee all of Kering's couture and leather goods brands, excluding Gucci, while former LVMH executive Albert Bensoussan will head up watches and jewellery. Gucci chief executive Patrizio di Marco will continue to report directly to Kering chief executive François-Henri Pinault, who will remain chairman of Saint Laurent. "The introduction of this structure is a logical stage in the formation of a more integrated group to further accelerate the development of our brands while respecting the autonomy and individual identity of each of them," Mr Pinault said, in a statement.
