LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Burberry Executive Shakeups
Burberry's Christopher Bailey is set to hand over the title of chief executive officer to Céline's Marco Gobbetti. Bailey, who was appointed to the role in October 2013 in addition to his duties as chief creative officer, will add the newly created title of president to his name. Both Bailey and Gobbetti will directly report to Burberry chairman John Peace.

In a separate statement, Burberry also announced it has appointed Julie Brown as chief operating and financial officer and will be joining the company in early 2017. Brown will succeed Carol Fairweather, who decided to step down after 10 years in the role

Stuart Weitzman Appoints CEO and Brand President
Wendy Kahn has joined Stuart Weitzman as chief executive officer and brand president, effective September 13, as announced by mother company Coach Inc. Kahn will succeed Wayne Kulkin, who will become a consultant to Coach. Kahn is currently chief executive officer of Valentino USA, a role she has held since 2008.

The BFC Strengthens Executive Board
The British Fashion Council has appointed three new non-executive directors to join its executive board. Joining the group are Dylan Jones, editor-in-chief of British GQ, Farfetch founder and chief executive officer José Neves and chief executive officer of the Guardian Media Group, David Pemsel. The three join existing board members Dame Natalie Massenet, chairman; Caroline Rush, chief executive; and Anya Hindmarch, non-executive director.

Tamara Mellon Names CEO
Tamara Mellon Brand has named Jill Layfield chief executive officer. Prior to joining Tamara Mellon, Layfield spent five years as chief executive officer at online retailer Backcountry.com. Before that she held positions at Shutterfly and Cisco Systems.

Keanan Duffty Joins John Varvatos
John Varvatos has hired Keanan Duffty as senior design director of Star USA. He will report directly to chairman and chief creative officer John Varvatos. Duffty, who is an award-winning British fashion designer, established his eponymous fashion label in 1999 and in recent years has consulted for a slew of brands including Ben Sherman, Dr. Martens and Reebok.

Alexa Chung Appoints Managing Director
Alexa Chung has appointed Edwin Bodson as managing director for her eponymous ready-to-wear fashion line, which is set to hit retailers May 2017. Bodson, who was the former head of atelier at Haider Ackermann, was responsible for overseeing the commercial and product development for Haider Ackermann's womenswear pre-collections.
