The social media platform’s latest launches, announced during a virtual event on Wednesday, including a new video ad product, trend-identifying tool and conversion insights tool to allow brands to better understand what leads consumers to make purchases.

During the conference, author and activist Sinéad Burke also introduced her consultancy, Tilting the Lens, which helps create more accessible digital experiences for those with physical impairments.

Although brands have often paid attention to social media platforms that dominate headlines, like TikTok, Instagram and even Clubhouse, Pinterest is a sleeping giant when it comes to brand marketing. Over the past several months, Pinterest has rolled out more influencer- and brand-friendly tools (like story pins and direct shopping capabilities). The platform said during Wednesday’s conference that it now has 459 million monthly active users.
