The American designer, who recently celebrated his brand’s 40th anniversary, made the announcement on Wednesday, indicating the event will be a live, in-person runway show scheduled for September 10. According to a statement from the brand, the event will also include a “multi-layered digital experience” broadcast simultaneously on the brand’s e-commerce site.

”This is an important moment for New York, and we’re proud to support the city and the industry during this season’s New York Fashion Week,” Kors said. “I am thrilled about the return of live performance throughout New York this autumn, and I look forward to presenting my collection to a live audience.”

The news comes as more designers announce their own repatriation to NYFW, even if just for a single season like Thom Browne. Although Kors shows his collection in accordance with the CFDA calendar, IMG Fashion, which hosts its own New York Fashion Week schedule, has incentivised designers to participate in live shows this season by offering resources and exposure.
